Pizzagalli Construction Company traces its origin to Pizzagalli Pre-Cast Stone which was founded in 1958. The firm manufactured cut stone and handled masonry construction projects. Sales in 1958 totaled $25,000. In 1960, the manufacture of pre-cast stone was discontinued and the name of the firm was changed to Pizzagalli Construction Company. It was also at this time that the firm discontinued its home building and masonry activities to concentrate on commercial, industrial and institutional construction. Throughout the early 1960s the organization continued to generate multi-million dollar sales and by 1964 Pizzagalli achieved the distinction of being Vermont’s largest construction company.

By 1991, Engineering News Record magazine ranked the company 91st in size nationally, based on sales of over $200 million. As its revenues grew, the company expanded its geographical boundaries. Having completed projects as far as Florida, Texas and Trinidad, Pizzagalli is now, truly a general contractor of national significance.
