Johnson Filaments, a division of JWI Ltd., is a manufacturer and marketer of technically advanced custom polymer extrusions. The company is focused upon aggressive product development and exceptional quality as keys to providing value for our customers.

The company began in 1790 in Manchester, England. The original business was wire weaving, primarily for paper makers. From 1901-1970, several plants were opened in Canada and the US to weave all types of papermaking fabrics. Johnson Filaments was founded in 1975 to provide a source of custom monofilaments for JWI’s industrial weaving companies.

The company produces a wide range of technical monofilaments in the one plant, covering 27,000 square feet and employing 59 associates. It was the first monofilament company in the U.S. to become ISO-9000 certified. The corporation holds a number of patents for the invention of advanced monofilaments. With a complete research and development department we are able to be the leaders in new technology in our field. Every product is backed by technical expertise, equipment and service.
