Lakeside Avenue General Dynamics in Burlington, formerly part of General Electrics (GE) Aerospace business, offers complete services in all elements of design, system integration, manufacturing, and field support of its products to government customers. Burlington products are basic and widely deployed air, sea and land weapons. The Burlington operation started in 1948 as GE and was purchased by Martin Marietta in 1993. Martin Marietta merged with Lockheed in 1995 to form Lockheed Martin. The Burlington operation was purchased by General Dynamics in 1997. Today, local facilities total over 560,000 square feet in office and manufacturing space and the plant employs about 700 people.
