Home to Middle School
Students will begin to:

• develop an understanding of the career planning process.

• develop the ability to communicate effectively through listening, speaking, writing and non-verbal communication.

• begin to understand the concepts of expectations and standards for work and demonstrate such life skills as:

punctuality responsibility
cooperation organization
conflict resolution problem solving
decision-making taking initiative
taking pride in work producing quality work
completing tasks accept/valuing diversity

 

 

 

 

• understand that all work is valuable.

Middle School students will begin to:

• identify and use career resources available through the community, the Department of Employment and Training, business and personal connections.

• demonstrate knowledge of academic vocational technical and post secondary programs available and develop a personalized plan for career and continuing education.

• understand and begin to demonstrate the concepts of expectations and standards for work and demonstrate such life skills as:

conflict resolution problem solving
decision-making taking initiative
taking pride in work producing quality work

Secondary and Beyond
Students will:

• connect personal interests and skills with career interests and skills.

• understand and engage in the career decision-making process.

• demonstrate and continue to refine the skills, attitudes, and ethics needed to contribute effectively in the workplace.

• understand and begin to demonstrate the concepts of expectations and standards for work and demonstrate such life skills as:

punctuality responsibility
cooperation organization
conflict resolution problem solving
decision-making taking initiative
taking pride in work producing quality work

• maintain an ongoing record of personal and career development/portfolio.
