• Company Tours/Visits: Tour/visit designed to explore careers within business/industry and link with specific class/school projects. Prep time: hour. Activity commitment: One-time visit; 1-3 hours.
• Student Job Shadowing: Student follows an employer in the workplace for a short period of time to learn about a particular occupation or industry. Prep time: 2 hours. Activity commitment: - 1 day.
• Student Internship: Students learn about an occupation or industry by working with a particular employer for a specified period of time. Prep time: 4 hours. Activity commitment: Usually a few hours per week throughout a semester - individual schedules determined.
• Paid Employment: Paid work experience that involves specific, mutual goal setting and joint, ongoing assessment by the employer, school and student.
• Participate in a Career Fair: Employers can bring their display booths, brochures and display interesting fun facts about their business. The purpose of this activity is to educate youth about the different career opportunities available. Prep time: 1 hour. Activity commitment: 1 day
